ART AT ONE OF THE FOUR CORNERS OF THE WORLD
Fogo Island is a 25-km-long island located on Canada’s eastern shoreline. It is also a hidden paradise and creative hub where artists come to be deeply inspired by the scenic landscapes. Its name comes from the Portuguese word for fire, named by the settlers who landed here. This is the crux of remote & experiential travel, and a must-visit destination for any art and travel lover.
Visit the stunning art studios that double as iconic examples of modern architecture which are scattered across the island.
Participate in local art events produced by emerging and world-renowned artists on Fogo Island.

Wind & Waves
Just beside the turnoff to the Fogo Island Inn stands Wind and Waves, the artisans’ guild on the island. The structure serves two purposes — to provide workspace, especially for the active quilting circle, whose pieces adorn every bed at the inn; and as a retail outlet for artists and craftspeople.
Stay inside the iconic structure in Newfoundland that has attracted international acclaim for its unique design and location. The luxurious hotel is an integral part of Fogo Island’s culture and history. The 29-suite lodge is filled with furniture and fabrics handmade by local artisans.
